The Puhar Days, for the second time already, organized the Janez Puhar Photo Society Kranj, is becoming a festival of photography. Social gathering of photographers to express honour and promotion to inventor of photography on glass plate Janez Puhar lasted in Kranj for five days. In different galleries, each day they was opened at least one exhibition. They began with the exhibition of Macedonian photographer Boro Rudić and his Hungarian friend János Eifert in the Library in Kranj. And in next days they opened exhibitions of Romain Nero from Luxembourg and well known portraitist Tihomir Pinter and very successful author Rok Godec both from Slovenia. They also prepared three photo projections “Notranjska and Karst” from Andreja Peklaj and musician, composer and also photographer Lado Jakša. The photographer Izidor Gašperlin called his projection “The Path to Yourself”. Few other projections were made by “Herman Čater”. The organizer brought the guests to Cave of Postojna, Rakov Škocian, Lake of Cerknica, and then to Ljubljana, to Planica valley with ski jumps, spring of Sava River in Zelenci and to Jesenice (exhibition of Janez Kramar) and to Bled.

The Puhar Days were concluded by photo Ex Tempore. 15 photographers were taking photos on theme “Rain in Kranj”. The pictures taken before noon were at 15 o’clock on computer of organizer, ready for judgement and the projection for public was at 18 o’clock, where also the winners were announced. “We planned the Ex Tempore to give the opportunity to more Slovenian photographers to find the contact with foreign authors, participants at Puhar Days. And at the projection we saw a lot of good photographs of rain taken on that day in Kranj” said the chairman of Janez Puhar Photo Society Mr Vasja Doberlet. He also emphasized this was not a real competition, more important was that the photographers come together and stay together for the whole day. The judges assigned three “virtual” diplomas and two “virtual” gold medals. So the diplomas were assigned to János Eifert, Andreja Peklaj, Tomaž Cimperman and the medals to Niko Sladič and Alan Lacijan. “With the organization of Puhar Days we send the information of our inventor of photography on glass plate to the countries where the participants come from, to Luxembourg, Macedonia and Hungary. We won new ambassadors to promote Janez Puhar” said Doberlet.
